Hardwood, Carpet & Tile - Oh My!

So, here's another piccy of my upgrades. On the left, obviously, is a sample of the hardwood flooring that is going to be in my livingroom / dining area and the hallway that leads to my bedroom. Next, is a sampe of the carpeting that's going to be in my bedroom and then to the far right near the top is the piccy of my upgrade tile that's going to be in the bathroom and kitchen. Hopefully the next pictures I have will either be of the model suite, or MY actual condo. Just working on how to pay for all these upgrades right now, trying to roll the second payment into my mortgage to save myself using up all my available cash. We'll see how that goes.

No email, grrr.

I emailed Catherine on Wednesday to ask her question re: upgrades.
Prices for things she had no prices for, details, etc.
No response.
By Friday, I was irritated, so I emailed again. Requesting the details once more, telling her that I wanted an email with the answers by Sunday, or I'd expect several days AFTER my appointment on Tuesday to make my final decision... it's Sunday, there is no email. This is war.

Other Upgrades..

Alright, so most of the other upgrades had nothing to take a picture of. To the left here we have the two choices of handles I'm looking at - a $45 upgrade for either. I think I like the top one the best, you can be the judge and share your opinion though - feel free. I'm also looking at at upgrading the appliances from standard white to stainless steel. To do that for the Dishwasher, Fridge and Stove it will cost $1500. To purchase the microwave, in stainless steel, with a range built in is an additional $700. (I think a microwave range without the stainless was like.. $500.) I can't decide if I want to pay the money for stainless steel, or if standard white would look nicer with my white cabinets? Also, I will be purchasing the upgrade to get the ceramic stove top - which is a $200 up grade. I think that's it.. it's all I can think of for now anyway. I have to email Catherine and have her answer some more questions for me before Tuesday. So, everyone, feel free to share your advice and comments with me.. they are always welcome.

Upgrade #2 - Nicer tiles.

Ok, so to the left here is the tile upgrade I'm considering for the kitchen and maybe even the bathroom. The upgrade for the kitchen I think was $550, and for the bathroom in the same tile is $250. It's actually very nice looking tile, very warm feeling, it looked to be pretty good quality and actually has sorta a marble look to it. You'll have to click on it to see the larger version and get a better idea. If I can't afford it in the bathroom, then I'll just leave the other tile in the upgrade package I picked cause it was similar in colour. Anyway, we'll see. If I can't upgrade the main rooms with nice hardwood, at least maybe I can have nice tile - ya know? The picture to the right is of the same upgrade tile as the left, but next to it, is the upgrade of carpeting that came with that upgrade package... this will more than likely be the shit that's in my condo. I don't like it, I want hardwood. Hopefully by my appointment next week she'll have the prices for the more pricey upgrade of carpeting, and maybe I'll lean towards that. The carpet kinda looks a bit pinkish now that I see it in the picture.. that worries me. It didn't look at all pink in the room. Curses!

Upgrade #1 - Glossy White Cabinets.

Ok, so my first upgrade. The standard finishes are similar to this - instead of a gloss finish, the cabinet doors were mat - which for dirt, doesn't work well. So, since all you can do is upgrade by the package, and not by a single item - I will be paying I believe it was $300 for this. It also allows me to have a standard tile that I could live with - but will probably change, and also allows me to pick a different colour in the crap-ass carpeting. Were as, with the standard package, your choice is white cabinet, nearly white tiles and grey ugly carpeting. Since I can't afford the hardwood flooring that I wanted, and it doesn't even look like I can fit it into my budget if I do it myself, I will be nice to know I can have the crap carpeting in the colour I want. ~Sighs~ Of course, I'm hoping they'll come up with a better quality carpeting.. we'll see how that goes. There's a small sample there also of the counter tops in the kitchen.. ~Shrugs~ Whatever. I wasn't overly thrilled with any of the choices. Though I do like white.

The building is coming along...

Ok then, there are the pictures of the condo building being built. The latest ones at least. I might get some more done next Tuesday - but I doubt it will be much father along then that. I've circled my actually windows in the condo - this is the ONLY thing that is getting me excited, to see this, and imagine what it'll be like to be standing up there in my own personal space - honestly, it's what keeps me going through all these other stressful things. I took a picture of the part of the building that has the siding up - cause that's what my side will look like eventually - yay!
